How to step and repeat a group in photoshop?

Here I am using Photoshop CS6. I've been trying to step and repeat a group in Photoshop like we step and repeat a layer in Photoshop. However, it seems to be not working. So, is there any other way to step and repeat a group in Photoshop? I know how to step and repeat a layer in Photoshop but while trying same procedure for step and repeat a group it's not working. Any suggestion would help.
