Rapid Temporary Tool Switch

I am using Photoshop for digital painting and am finding the need to rapidly switch between the brush and eraser tool. I understand that holding down a shortcut for a tool lets you temporarily switch to that tool until you let it go. However, it seems that you can't do a rapid temporary switch because it will just switch to the tool instead. In Manga Studio, you can set this switching time (time you have to hold down a key to temporarily switch to that tool) and when you set it to a low amount (<500 ms) you can very rapidly temporarily switch between tools for a better workflow. Is there such a setting in Photoshop or some workaround to do something similar?
