Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 ~ give an image rounded edges

so i have a png image.

I want to give it rounded edges. That is, I want the end result to have any edges be transparent, so I can pop it on any coloured background and it will look modern and cool!

How do i do this using photoshop cc 2014? I am a complete beginner to this tool, so please walk me through this!
