Illustrator to Adobe Acrobat - Maintaining Editing Capabilities

I create a lot of design files (in Illustrator) then save as a PDF when finished to send to clients.

Well some of my clients need to be able to edit small text items and they open the PDF's in Adobe Acrobat. The problem is once they make changes to the PDF in Acrobat, when I open the PDF back up in Illustrator I lose all my editing capabilities.

What is the best work around for this so that my clients can make few small changes but I can still maintain editing capabilities?
