illustrator vector lines are straight but look jagged

Is there a way to avoid the appearance of jagged lines? I'd like for all the lines to appear fine and smooth, but there are uneven parts, as you can see, where the lines become jagged-looking. These lines were all drawn with the pen tool in adobe illustrator and have a pretty small stroke (.1). I do have Anti-Aliased Artwork selected in my preferences.
