How to produce drop shadow halftone effect?

i tried all the steps in my earlier question How do I make a drop shadow with a halftone effect? but i still can't produce the effect. i want this effect when i write my name on an image. when i combine the drop shadow layer with the previous one, the previous layer shows halftone effect. please help me.
