How to create cartoon green grass for covering sphere?

I'v searched a lot about How to create grass for sphere , I analyzed some picture from different games , It is question for me that How they create grass like that , I can copy that but its important to know their method because here I have sphere to cover it by grass not flat ground.

1.my first method is using sketch Effect and Image Tracing

2. my second method is use grass texture but on sphere it doesn't seems Good

It is another trying in illustrator but I it isn't seem like cartoon

So I decide to Ask question to find better method for creating Grass and cover sphere with it .
