Flexible Column Widths

I'm struggling with usage of flexible column widths, as in how to get (for example) a four column box where the ratio of widths are 2:2:1:2. I recently did an advanced InDesign course and the tutor showed how to drag the column edges manually but can I remember how to do it, or find out how online!? >_<
