This question already has an answer here:
I'm drawing a webcomic that might eventually see print. I do not know what technology will be used, so I want to prepare my files for all eventualities.
What is the ideal resolution (ppi) for
- black and white ink lineart
- colored lineart
to be published by a large mainstream publisher?
Information on the web and in print is confusing and contradictory. Recommendations for 2. range from the much rumored 300 to 450 (DC Comics Guide to Coloring and Lettering Comics) to 600 "dpi". Recommended for 1. is 1200 ppi (bitmap).
What is truly best?
