I'm an architect / planner and have used both Mac and pcs at offices. I own an old Del PC that I need to replace and am going through the usual dilemma. Buy another PC or switch to Mac. I love Mac design but am living on tight budget so am resisting factoring this into my decision. I always hear that macs are less buggier/ run smoother than pcs because they run less stuff in the background and pick up less bugs from internet. Is this true? I have no perspective because my super old PC is painfully slow. I've only used Mac in an office setting with an IT person who keeps all things running smoothly. For home use where I sometimes freelance I don't have office IT support. So tendency to bugs is an issue. I always opt for PC in end bc I tell myself the price will allow me to upgrade to a new computer twice as often. But in the end I tend to keep computers 5-6 years and erase hard drive at least twice to get rig of bugs. Is this what you would also need to do on a Mac?
