What Can Be Improved On My Site?

Hey Guys,

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place for this, but I'll give it a shot.

I've been trying to develop a web portfolio, and I'm building this website for my dad right now. The link is at the top of the post. I need some pointers on what needs to be improved upon as far as design is concerned, since I'm not too great at design.

However, I would like to improve. If anyone has any resources where I can learn some design basics, that would be much appreciated.
