I've been trying to reproduce a color palette that is used on a Wikipedia article. The following images are their images:
Compare that with my images:
Notice the drastic difference in banding on the 6bit version. On their version, the banding around the blue hue is smooth, whereas mine is ruggy and uneven. Despite experimenting with numerous algorithms for converting HSL to RGB, I have not been able to create an identical image. My suspicion is that there is color correction or color balancing being applied, does anyone know?
