Suggestion for Accurate Printer for Proofs?

thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Looking for a printer to produce full-bleed proofs of brochures and mailers up to at least 11x17" (folded to 8.5x11") with the most reasonable color accuracy possible - print destination of the artwork would be digital or offset depending on the size of the job.

Normally I would just use a good inkjet (have been eyeing the Epson Artisan 1430), but my office is contracted with Konica Minolta and HP only, and only for purchase of laser printers - no inkjet allowed. That means the purchase process for both the printer and the cartridges would be a pain.

The Artisan 1430 is $300, and the Konica Minolta majicolor 750 II grafx (the only one I've found so far from them that seems to do what I want) is almost $2,000. So, can anyone recommend a Konica-Minolta or HP alternative (particularly laser), the least expensive model that would do the job? Many thanks!
