Letters stamped through intro title [on hold]

Hey all I have been looking for a way to do this with no luck and I am not even sure what its called.

I am wanting a YouTube intro title where each letter of my name is placed one at a time almost like it was put on by a typewriter. I could find a tutorial but I don't even know what the effect is called.
