Buying a Wacom, but can't draw

Good day all

I'm a CS graduate and ive been programming small personal utility tools for my self (outside of work).

However, I recently realized that i was retouching alot of photos in Photoshop and thought "well, this isn't all that bad, maybe i should take it one step further".

So i pulled a sheet of paper out, dusted off my high school pencils (seriously, haven't used a pen in forever except for signing stuff). And then i realized... I'm really, really bad at drawing.

I've been wanting to do some graphics design, fx for my programs logo or something like that

I'm now asking for suggestions and advice. I almost bought a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium, just for photoshoping, but now i'm really on the fence about it.

The questions: - Should i buy a Wacom tablet or would it be a waste of money? - Also wondering if a tablet would perhaps improve both handwriting and/or drawing?
