Problem exporting blend materials to fbx


I have been searching for a while on this one. Im not sure if its possible.


I'm trying to export some animations to an .FBX file and in my animations I make use of blend materials that I animate, so that I have an animated texture.


How ever when I go to export the file to FBX the blend materials never make it through. I always get the error:


Some materials in this scene may not be supported by certain applications and will import as standard gray materials instead. The following materials are affected: -Left_HemiSphere_Blend -Right_Hemisphere_Blend


Those 2 materials are 2 Blend materials that have 2 children each, those children themselves are just standard materials with a .jpg map attached to the diffuse.


I realize that not all applications support blend materials but if I then open the fbx file again in 3ds max, the materials are gone.


Is it not possible to bake or export the blend material information to an .FBX file from 3ds max? Or am I missing a step?
