recently, my photoshop is forcing me to save all the files as PSD, what I mean every time I open a JPG file (for example) and after some editing without any layers or channels, and when I want to save what I did, photoshop gives me the save dialogue box to save PSD, that's mean I have to [save as] the file and it keep telling if I want to replace the file. but when I want to replace the file, the file name in the opened tab in photoshop have an asterisk (*) which mean the file it is not saved.
This problem become a huge problem when it come to some command that require a saved documents, fore example I use the photomerge, this command will not executed unless the files I have edited must be saved first. and it will not work unless I close the documents and reopen again .. that's mean it must be opened in photoshop without asterisk.
What is my problem and how to solve it?
