Opacity / Gradient Printing on Transparent Film Problems

Thanks in advance for reading this LONG message.

I'm a graphic designer that works at a cosmetics factory that does silk screening on their products.

Most recently our printer we've been using for 10+ years had died and we bought the newest model of the same brand, Dell Color Printer - C3760n.

So my issue is as follows; on Illustrator I sometimes apply a gradient and/or opacity to the artwork. In order to print out that effect I must apply some changes on the printing options before printing. What I usually did was as follows:

Print > Advance > Overprint: Preserve + Preset: Custom > Line Art and Text Resolution 600 ppi & Gradient and Mesh Resolution 85 ppi.

In addition, I'd select the colors I wanted printed on the output section. After all that, I'd click print and it would come out perfect.

This was on the older printer, now this new printer gives me the ability to put in those configurations, but the outcome is BIGGER dots on the gradients and opacity. Which greatly effects the printing quality, losing the effect of a smooth gradient/opacity.

If you have any knowledge as to how I fix this problem, I'll be ecstatic!

If there is something you need clarification on please let me know.

PS: I've been printing on Kimotech Laser Transparent Film 8.5 x 11(I don't think the film is an issue, just thought I should mention it).

PPS: I could send you screenshots of how I do the configurations on the print menu.
