Issues with a Word document converted from Indesign: headers and footers

I have a newsletter template that was created in Indesign and converted to a word document. I only have the word template and do not own Indesign. Can someone explain how to keep the text of my articles from showing in the footer space? any info on how headers and footers are functioning when converted from INDESIGN to word (including page numbering) would be helpful. also, template doesn't appear to let me add pages? Thank you!
